Why it is not advisable to drink coffee on an empty stomach harms of caffeine healthy eating|Health | FAMILY

Being a coffee lover has its pros and cons. It is good because it provides antioxidants and because it gives us that energy we need to start the day, but it can also cause us discomfort if we have gastritis or reflux, since the condition can worsen. You have to understand that everything in excess is bad and it is better to follow the recommendations to enjoy this drink without complications later on.

We talked with the nutritionist Angela Marreros from Home Health Portalwho tells us what happens when we drink coffee in aid and gives us some recommendations:

According to the expert, the stomach in the morning wakes up more acid than normal and drinking coffee will stimulate the secretagogues, which are responsible for producing more acids in this organ. It is not recommended to ingest it on an empty stomach, even worse, if the person suffers from some type of heartburn, reflux or gastritis.

For the specialist, what is recommended is to drink coffee accompanied with other foods. And the ideal is to consume it last, because the antioxidants are better preserved, and preferably without sugar so as not to add unnecessary calories.

To clarify this issue, we also consulted with the nutritionist of the Magnesol team, Sylvia Rodriguez who told us about the negative effects and benefits of coffee intake:
