Just three days after the 95th edition of the Santa Fe classic between Colón and Unión, the province’s police ordered the series of traffic interruptions that will take place in the area near Brigadier Estanislao López.
The match will be played on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. for the second date of the AFA Professional Soccer League 2022.
The Security Coordination Section in Sports and Mass Shows of the URI of the police of the province of Santa Fe detailed all the cutoff points.

JJ Paso will be completely cut off at the height of Calle San Lorenzo and the hand to the west from Urquiza. After passing the roundabout, JJ Paso will cut into Calle San José.
Zavalla will be cut in Uruguay Street, at the same height as Freyre. While the entrance from Santo Tomé will have a total interruption passing the loop of Circunvalación.
Jujuy for its part will stop its circulation in San Lorenzo street.
It should be noted that last Saturday there were strong acts of violence in front of the headquarters of the red and black entity, in celebration of the first anniversary of the title, in which the brother of “Chuky” Ríos was shot.
Income for the sabalera fans
From Sports Security they clarified the operation of access to the stadium of the corresponding Colón fans according to the tribune to which they go.
Zavalla and Uruguay: entrance to Platea Oeste, Palcos and Popular Sur. To access the latter, fans will be diverted through Calle San José.
JJ Paso and Gdor. Freire: entrance to the popular low North.
JJ Paso and NR Peña: entrance to Platea Este and Platea Alta Sur.
They also reported that all fans, including minors, must attend with a ticket, QR or Card and ID. In the absence of any of the aforementioned, they will not be able to enter the stadium.
In turn, the Ministry of Security issued a statement for sabaleros fans who arrive at the stadium or the city by route 19.
“The Ministry of Security asks the supporters of the Club Colón who attend the classic, to divert south on Route 6 (at the height of Franck), return to the Western Access on Route 70 and enter through the Circunvalación and then Intendente Irigoyen . You can also enter the city through Iturraspe street,” the statement requests.
Almost the entire stadium enabled and strong police armor
Marcos Romero, head of the security agency at the provincial level in sports events, confirmed the presence of 1,000 police officers (700 to guarantee order in the stadium, which must be paid by Colón and 300 for patrolling by the city), to the time he made some considerations in relation to the assembly of the police operation for the classic game this Sunday.
“For a week we have been working in the Centenario neighborhood and Fonavi San Jerónimo. In the hands of justice, it is the fact of verifying who should enter the stadium and who should not. We are going to double the number of telephones in the entrances and who cannot enter They will not enter, but I cannot say anything more because I do not want to hinder the work of justice, which is the one that will be in charge of the task,” Romero said.
He also confirmed that the stadium will be enabled in its entirety, “except for the southwest elbow, where there will be a lung with a strong police presence.”
That sector of the stands (approximately for 2,000 spectators without counting the comforts in the boxes, where the members of the visiting delegation will go), is the one that has been allocated to the visiting biases in the matches that were played for the Copa Libertadores against Peñarol, Cerro Porteno and Olympia.
“The south stand will be enabled, people will enter through gate 6, which is the one that leads to the auxiliary field, they will have to go to the area called the eucalyptus and from there enter the club and the stadium. The southwest elbow The police will use it as a lung. If an evacuation has to be carried out, it will be through gate 7,” Romero said.
He also referred to the meeting with the Union leaders to coordinate the departure of the bus with the players from Casasol and thus avoid the serious inconveniences that occurred on the occasion of the last classic, a few months ago, when there were serious incidents. It must be remembered that on that occasion there were fans who went to greet the players at the exit of the venue, they were asked to drive along the route at the height of a roundabout and there the bus stopped, on the way to the stadium, incidents occurred with the intervention of the police and even with some Union players who participated when they saw that the events were getting worse.
“I want the team’s trip from Casasol to Colón to be neat,” were the words used by Romero when he referred to this situation, while also confirming that there will be 27 traffic cuts in the vicinity of the stadium.
The opening of the stadium will take place at 10 in the morning (three hours before the start of the game, scheduled for 13) and “the flags will be allowed, but only the regulatory ones, those that measure 2×1 meters. Musical instruments also they will be allowed, but not the large ones”.
He also spoke of the serious incidents that occurred last Saturday on the occasion of the celebration for the year of the championship title obtained by Colón, in San Juan against Racing. “Regarding what is security, zero risk does not exist. If there had been more police, it could have happened in the same way. It happened in the street, what happened was body to body and they dispersed in a matter of seconds Romero said.
In the last games, 550 policemen were requested in Colón to control security. In the last classic, which took place in the month of March also in the Brigadier López, Romero requested the presence of 600 police officers. In this case there will be 100 more in control in the stadium itself and, as already said, 300 more to control what happens outside the Sabalero stadium.
Undoubtedly, beyond the absence of visitors, Sunday’s game is high risk and has generated a lot of concern in the security agencies, due to the serious incidents that have been taking place in recent times, especially since the dispute that exists within the Colón bar, divided into two well-differentiated factions (Los de Siempre, who go to the north stand and “La Negrada” who goes to the south).
